Myofascial Release (MFR)

Is a method of prolonged stretching applied through gentle pressure to facilitate movement of the fascia of the body. The fascia is a very resistant connective tissue that provides support to all structures in the body, covering each organ, every muscle, every fiber of each muscle and body cavities and helps to suspend the organs in their place.

Myofascial Release (MFR) can reduce and eliminate restrictions that produce patterns of physical pain and can make structural and postural changes in the body. In the process of relieving these restrictions, the imbalances that cause disease or dysfunction are improved, liberating circulation, neurological and chemical function at the cellular level. This can improve various aspects of the patient’s health by reaching the source of the problem and thereby eliminating the symptoms. It is a total body approach facilitating relaxation and reducing stress.
